Chiron in Aquarius:
The Return of Isis

In
late January/early February of 2004, the goddess Isis began speaking to
me. I didn't realize then that in ancient days, this period was one of
Her most powerful festivals. Midway between the Winter Solstice and
Spring Equinox, it's when the life force is quickened. Other cultures
have celebrated it as Imbolc, or Candlemas.
My
journey started with the purchase of a plaque of Isis and Osiris for my
altar, and the simultaneous arrival of the Spikenard oil I'd ordered--a
rich, earthy fragrance reportedly used by Mary Magdalen, a priestess of
Isis, to anoint the feet of her beloved Jesus. As I anointed the
Egyptian figures with oil and prayed to Isis each morning, she suddenly
began telling me things, specifically about a man I was longing to see.
"Go to him now!" she commanded. This led to an extraordinary sequence
of events that reawakened priestess powers I barely knew I
possessed.
I'd
felt a connection to Isis since visiting the Temple of Dendur at New
York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1997. This ancient temple sat
on the banks of the Nile for millennia, until the building of the Aswan
Dam in the late 60s threatened its fragile sandstone walls. Covered in
hieroglyphics, the tiny structure still carries such powerful energy
that I was overcome as I got near it. I knew that Isis had once played
a major role in my life, and would do so again.
"The
Magdalen Manuscript: The Alchemies of Horus & The Sex Magic of
Isis" by Tom Kenyon and Judi Sion (2002) opened my eyes to the magical
connection between Jesus (Yeshua) and Mary Magdalen. To strengthen
their "Ka" bodies (an Egyptian term for the etheric double, or
energetic body that surrounds the physical) the couple practiced an
ancient and very secret form of Egyptian alchemy. The Magdalen came
forth (channeled by Tom Kenyon) to share the specifics of this practice
and reveal the great love that she shared with Yeshua. She desires that
men and women come together now, "at the beginning of the end of time"
to practice this high sexual magic--according to her, the quickest
route to higher consciousness.
The
Aquarius Connection
The
myth of Isis describes her passion for her mate Osiris, who was also
her twin brother (they began mating while in the womb). This perfectly
symbolizes the sign of Aquarius, which describes the brotherhood of
mankind and equality between male and female.
Isis
was devastated by her mate's death and dismemberment, and spent years
wandering the planet, collecting his missing parts to bring him back to
wholeness. This potent goddess has returned to Earth, resplendent in
her full power, as the "planetoid" Chiron moves through Aquarius for
six years. In astrology, Chiron is known as the "wounded healer," a
poignant description of the Isis myth. This energetic shift represents
a passionate upwelling of ancient feminine power that hasn't been seen
on this planet in at least two thousand years. The Aquarian-style love
that Isis represents is no mere androgyny, but an intense, cosmic
fusion that exalts the male/female principle into something greater
than the sum of its parts.
Those
born between February, 1955 and January, 1961, with Chiron in Aquarius
in their birth charts, may feel a special call during this period in
which Chiron moves through that sign and triggers their natal Chiron
placement. This could also be true for people with Leo planets who are
receiving the opposition from Chiron, or those with Chiron closely
connected to Uranus or Aquarius angles or planets.
The transit
of Chiron through Aquarius offers the opportunity to heal old wounds
between men and women as well as rebalance the male/female energies
within.
